A new professorship by special appointment (bijzonder hoogleraar) in Climate and the Water cycle has been established at the department of Earth Science within cluster Earth and Climate. The chair is supported by Alterra Wageningen UR, in line with the policies and procedures of VU University Amsterdam. The new professor will be affiliated to the cluster Earth and Climate of the Department of Earth Sciences within the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences.
The Ecology programme offered by the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has an explicit research-oriented character and is designed to provide its students the knowledge, skills and insights to operate as an independent professional scientist in the fields of ecology and evolution and to become a promising candidate for a subsequent PhD position or other research-related function.
