Physical chemistry of natural polymers

The academic PhD position proposed is included in a multi-disciplinary project on the high pressure molding of natural polymers and composites and will concern the thermo-mechanical analysis of model polymers in low moisture conditions (0-15%).Its objectives will be to establish a comprehensive basis on the phenomena related to the compression of natural polymers through the the realization of PVT diagrams, the study (and the modeling) of the influence of polymer structure and moisture content, the comparison with traditional analysis (DSC, DMA) and the observation of microstructural changes upon the conjugated effect of temperature and pressure.

The Master “Green Chemistry and Processes for Renewable Feedstocks” focuses on the area of the conversion of renewable resources by chemical or biochemical reactions or by physical processes; the courses deal with the knowledge of vegetable raw materials, the set up of the chemical reaction and its catalysis, the operation of the biological reaction (enzymatic or fermentation) and the separation processes that result.
