Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from University of Helsinki offer a perspective on biology from the level of genes to communities of species. In the Master's programme in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, you become familiar with a wide variety of topics in three areas: ecology, evolutionary biology and conservation biology.
MA in Ecology and Contemporary Performance (MAECP) is a two-year pilot of a master’s degree programme, which studies questions in ecology and performance in the era of ecological crises through a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.
This course introduces students to the theory and practice of ecology and management of urban green areas. The course will tackle urban sustainability, the ecosystem services approach and social-ecological linkages in city and green space planning, and will provide examples of designing a green city.
The multidisciplinary Life Science Informatics programme offered by the University of Helsinki is designed for students with a background in mathematics, computer science and statistics, as well as for students with these disciplines as a minor in their bachelor’s degree, with their major being, for example, ecology, evolutionary biology or genetics.
