European Studies: Europeanization of Governance and Politics

The European studies programme is designed for those who are interested in learning more about the politics and governance of the EU’s member states, and wish to gain in-depth knowledge of functioning of various EU institutions, EU policies and the EU challenges in the globalising world. The EU-Russia relations status quo and alternative perspectives are specifically examined. The student should have a good command of English as this is the language of instruction.

Estonian Studies offered by Tallinn University is a unique MA programme, teaching Estonian language, culture, history, societal and political topics using English.
The aim of the course is to present Russian culture in general, highlighting the most important works of art and events. Focus is also on presenting Russian culture phenomena in Estonia.
The aim of the course is to introduce cultural dimensions in Africa, and to ways of approaching the study of culture in Africa. It focuses on orality and performance, exploring ways in which these find expression primarily (but not exclusively) through music, dance, ritual and language. After presenting a general theoretical framework for the study of the themes, it concentrates on specific cultural contexts (Swahili (East-Africa)), Dagara (West-Africa)), Kung (South-Africa)) etc.), illustrated with case studies.
