Background of Armenia
The Republic of Armenia, located in the southern Caucasus, is the smallest of the former Soviet republics. This ancient civilization, once home to Mount Ararat, was the first country to officially embrace Christianity around A.D. 300. It borders Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey, with Yerevan as its capital.
Armenia has a developed industry, supplying tools, textiles, and manufactured goods to neighboring countries, with recent growth in its technology sector. Presently, there are 26 state universities (four internationally managed) and over 42 private higher education institutions, including universities, institutes, academies, and conservatories. These institutions collectively host over 7,000 foreign students, providing diverse and quality higher education options.

There are several standardised English tests that you can take to prove your English level, such as the PTE (Pearson Test of English), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), CAE (Cambridge Advanced English) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System), offered by British Council and IDP.
