This four-year degree programme adds a year of industrial experience or professional training to the three-year programme. This honours school will offer students a solid basis in science and technology complemented by units incorporating aspects of business management, industrial technology and entrepreneurial skills in order to develop the knowledge required to exploit technological advances within a competitive environment.
The third year of this four year programme is the placement year, during which students complete a research project in an institution in the UK or abroad. The University assists students in finding placements and currently has established links with approximately three hundred institutions. Biotechnology (Enterprise) students have recently had placements with companies including Eli Lilly and Company Ltd and Lonza Biologies Ltd.
