The Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge has an international reputation as a centre of clinical excellence in all the domestic species, and is performing world class veterinary and biomedical research.
The Veterinary Medicine programme is a PhD degree by research over a minimum of three and a maximum of four years, including a probationary period of one year.
The Animal Health Trust has for many years provided training for postgraduate researchers in a variety of disciplines, for example Equine Orthopaedics, Infectious Diseases specifically Bacteriology and Virology, and in Inherited Diseases investigating canine and quantitative genetics.
The student will perform a research project in veterinary medicine, veterinary science or a biological science, and during the Veterinary Science at the University of Cambridge of the year will also prepare a literature review in the subject of their research project and present the project in talks and/or posters to a Departmental audience.
