This programme focuses on dating and chronologies taught in four core modules. It includes training in dating methods, and the application of these to chronological problems, together with skills development in analysis and use of the latest software for modelling of results. The programme is supported by practical AMS 14C dating, tephrochronology and dendrochronology using state-of-the-art equipment in the 14CHRONO Centre, enabling students to acquire ‘hands on’ skills through the preparation and dating of their own samples.
