Library and Information Science
Sungkyunkwan University
The Department of Library and Information Science was established in 1964, originally as the Library Science Department. Then in 1974, it established Korea’s first master's course. To meet the needs and changes of the information society, the name of the department was changed to the Department of Library and Information Science in 1991.
The Department of Library and Information Science at Yonsei University (LIS) was established in 1957 and is the first nation’s library school and most distinctive schools of library and information science.
The department offers a high-quality professional education programs based on the practices and underlying theories of information acquisition, organization, transmission, and utilization.
