The Master’s course in Product Design aims
to enable students to acquire design knowledge
and analytical, reflective, questioning and critical
skills “broadband-style” within a broad, multipurpose
framework that addresses current needs
and expectations in the professional fields associated
with design. It aims to develop and deepen
the training of professionals capable of working
in the different areas of product and services
design —namely in design work, teaching, research
and cultural events— by encouraging productive

This Bachelor’s Degree is based on PBL - project-based learning - where the Project curricular unit leads the semester. In each semester there is a project that combines all the curricular units of that semester.
The Architecture course was created at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 1998 with the aim of training architects in a rigorous culture and a strong technical competence, which guarantees them a future capacity to practice their profession.
The study programme leading to the master’s degree in Equipment Design aims to provide training to the level of a 2nd cycle of studies regarding the skills and research methods of Design.
