Regression analysis is the core statistical method to analyze causal relationships. This course provides a general overview on multivariate regression analysis. After learning how to read and interpret standard regression output from various software tools or from journal articles, we will be discussing various model choices and restrictions. Based on the ordinary least squares approach of multiple linear regression an overview is given on the broad spectrum of potential extensions, in particular for longitudinal, panel and spatial data. A special emphasis will be given on spatial econometrics. Practical examples will enhance the learning experience of the students.
