The Political Science with Concentration in Cultural Diplomacy program at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy consists of a total of 6 semesters. The first semester of the program takes place in Berlin at the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy and the remaining 5 semesters take place in Bucharest at the University of Bucharest.
With the participation of professors, researchers, and activists in social, political, urban, and economic fields, the course will study the intertwined visions of Berlin's urban challenges, examining different concepts of urban development.
In this course, the entire city of Berlin is the classroom. Participants are divided into groups based on the results of a placement test at the beginning of the course.

The building of the Berlin Wall in 1961 as well as its fall in 1989 marked major turning points in the Cold War - the former made explicit the boundaries of the Cold War, the latter marked the end of the Cold War. After a short introduction to the history of the Berlin Wall in the "world" historical context of the Cold War, we will focus on the local, everyday implications of these "world" historical evetns: what did the building of the Wall mean for Berliners (East and West)?
This course will deal with the quest for a common asylum policy within the European Union by
simulating European decision-making. Asylum policy is one of the most important topics of European policy. After an introduction into how European policy is made and how the European institutions interact, the course will examine the topic of asylum and migration policy in detail. Participants will take up the roles of European policy-makers in a simulation.
The master’s programme European Literatures is an interdepartmental master’s degree course, which imparts knowledge in the field of European literature in its historic dimension and its national diversity. The focus on the historic aspect is complemented by a systematical theoretical component, by which the view on literature is expanded beyond textual expressions to other fields of media and arts. Thus the students acquire a broad and differentiated notion of the literatures of Europe from their beginnings till the very present.
Boundaries in Cities: Social, Symbolic, and Spatial Dimensions

This course aims to exemplify these central features of boundaries by focusing on selected cases in which social and symbolic boundaries in cities have been paralleled by spatial boundaries of different forms: regulations of movements of persons, visual markers, or simply invisible demarcation lines separating the territories of different groups from each other.
