University of Manitoba
Geography is a broad synthesizing discipline that studies humans and the Earth by focusing on the themes of place and space. Geography is therefore not an encyclopedic listing of capital cities, mountains and rivers, but rather an understanding of the causes, effects, implications, and importance of these and other features. This program is offered by the University of Manitoba.
We offer a bachelor degree in Physical Geography at the University of Manitoba. Physical Geography examines the natural and physical systems of the Earth including the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere (ice and snow), hydrosphere (water) and lithosphere (land surface).
Students who elect to major in the Geography program at the University of Winnipeg will find readily accessible faculty and greater personal attention than they might receive at larger institutions oriented more toward graduate students.
The Master of Arts (Geography), offered by the University of Manitoba, is the logical progression for graduates from a Bachelor of Arts program.
